Adding Database Connections

Access the Settings:

Once you're in the Waii UI:

• Locate and click 'Settings' (hamburger icon) in the top right corner.
• From the dropdown menu, choose 'Manage Warehouses'.

Adding a New Database:

In the 'Manage Warehouses' section:

• Click on 'Add New'
• To add different databases, you can follow the instructions below:
  • AWS Athena
  • Bigquery
  • ClickHouse
  • MySQL
  • Postgres
  • Snowflake
  • SQL Server
  • SQLite
  • Trino/Presto
• After entering the details, click on Submit.

The platform does not require any write access. It is recommended to provide read-only permissions to the user account that is used to connect to your database.

Adding a Multi Database connection:

• Only supported in
  • Snowflake
  • Bigquery
• Follow the instructions here: Multi DB Connection and for the specific database
• After entering the details, click on Submit

Indexing Process:

Upon successful submission, Waii will start the indexing process for the newly added database. This indexing can take a few minutes, depending on the size and complexity of your database.

Once the indexing is complete, you'll be able to generate and run queries against your database. The indexing is complete, when you are able to see the tables and schemas in your database, before that you will see an 'x% complete' indicator in the information row at the top of the page.
