Multi-Database Connections Overview
Multi-Database Connections
The multi-database (multi-DB) feature allows Waii to index and manage tables, schemas, and data across multiple databases within supported data warehouses.
Enable Multi DB Flag
To activate multi-database support, check the Enable Multi DB flag in your warehouse connection’s advanced settings.
- Checking the Enable Multi DB flag allows Waii to access and index more than a single database or project for a connection, depending on your credentials and configuration.

Database Alias
When setting up a multi-database connection, you must provide a Database Alias.
- The Database Alias is required and will be used to uniquely identify this multi-db connection within Waii.
 - Choose an alias that is descriptive and easy to recognize for users managing multiple connections.

Automatic Indexing of Accessible Databases
Once you have checked Enable Multi DB and entered your credentials, Waii will automatically attempt to index all databases or projects accessible with those credentials.
- This enables unified search and management across your warehouse environment, subject to your permissions and warehouse capabilities.

Content Filters
Content Filters let you control precisely which databases, schemas, or tables Waii will index:
- Use content filters to include or exclude specific databases, schemas, or tables.
 - Important: To apply content filters to objects in multiple databases or projects, you must check the Enable Multi DB flag. Otherwise, filters for additional databases outside the selected database/project will be ignored.
 - Content filters ensure that only the relevant data for your organization is indexed.
